The terms, in plain English.
These terms are an agreement between you and Fertility Match (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them. We've written them to be read, not skimmed — please do read them. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your information and is part of these terms.
1. Who can use Fertility Match
You must be at least 18 years old and located in the United States. You must give us accurate information about yourself, keep your login private, and use only one account. If you're joining as a couple, one account is shared and both partners are bound by these terms. If you're joining on behalf of a clinic, you confirm you're authorized to do so.
2. What Fertility Match is (and isn't)
Fertility Match is an introduction and communication platform. It helps intended parents, embryo donors, and fertility clinics find each other, talk, and decide whether to move forward together. It is not a medical provider, a law firm, an adoption agency, an embryo bank, or a broker.
- Profile-based matching is informational. When we show areas of alignment between you and another member, and things you may want to discuss, that's a description of what you have each told us — not a score, not a judgement that one family is better than another, and not medical, legal, genetic, or psychological advice.
- Clinics and other professionals handle the real work. Medical screening, informed consent, and the transfer cycle itself are handled by licensed fertility clinics, while legal agreements, storage, transport, counseling, and testing may involve attorneys, storage facilities, couriers, or other professionals you engage. We don't supervise, guarantee, or take part in any of it.
- No outcomes are promised. We can't promise you'll find a match, that a match will proceed, or that any pregnancy or birth will result.
3. Embryos are never bought or sold
No one may sell, price, or pay for embryos on Fertility Match. You may not offer, request, negotiate, or accept payment or anything of value in exchange for embryos, and you may not use the platform to arrange such an exchange elsewhere. Clinics and other professionals may charge for medical, legal, counseling, storage, shipping, or related services; those are fees for services, not for embryos. Any attempt to sell or pay for embryos is grounds for immediate removal and may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
4. How members treat each other
People here are making one of the biggest decisions of their lives. We ask you to act accordingly. You agree not to:
- misrepresent who you are, your medical or family history, or your intentions;
- harass, pressure, threaten, or discriminate against other members;
- ask for money, gifts, or financial help, or offer them;
- share another member's profile, photos, or messages outside the platform without their permission;
- scrape, copy, or automate access to the platform, or try to get around our safety features;
- use the platform for any purpose other than genuine embryo donation and connection.
5. Verification
Every member is asked to confirm their identity with our team; verified profiles carry a check and the date identity was confirmed. Verification means one thing: we manually reviewed the identity information you provided on that date. It does not mean we verified your medical history, your embryos, your records, your background, or anything else in your profile, and no single badge should be read as saying every check is complete. You're responsible for the accuracy of what you share, and we may re-verify or remove verification at any time.
6. Requests, conversations, and moving forward
Either member can request to connect; the other can review the requester's profile and then accept or decline, and no private records are shared with a request. Accepting does not reveal the other member's sensitive information: some additional information may be shared after you both choose to connect, while records and screening information are only shared with the people authorized for that step, and only with the required consent. Members hold at most 3 conversations at once — active conversations, finalized ones, and any request you have sent that has not been answered yet. A request somebody sent you costs you nothing until you accept it. From an active conversation, either member can propose to move forward together; when both confirm, the match is finalized and the next steps move to your fertility clinic and any attorneys or other professionals you engage. Either member can step back or end a conversation at any time. Ending keeps the history; messages from ended, declined, and withdrawn conversations are kept for 60 days and then permanently deleted. Nothing you agree on Fertility Match is a binding donation agreement — that happens with your clinic and attorneys.
7. Blocking, reporting, and removal
You can block or report any member. Blocking ends your conversation, removes the saved profile in both directions, and hides you from each other — but a case the two of you had already opened stays open, with both of you on it, until it is closed. Reports go to platform administrators. We see what you tell us in the report — we cannot read your messages, and we do not. We may suspend or remove any account, at our discretion and without notice, for violating these terms, for behavior we believe puts other members at risk, or where required by law. You may close your account at any time by contacting us.
8. Clinics
Clinic accounts are provided under a separate subscription agreement. Clinics are responsible for their own compliance with medical, licensing, and privacy law, and for the services they provide to members. Fertility Match doesn't practice medicine and isn't responsible for a clinic's care.
9. Your content and our platform
You own what you write and the photos you upload. You give us permission to store, display, and transmit that content to operate the service — for example, to show your profile to other members and deliver your messages. You confirm you have the right to share it. The Fertility Match name, design, and software are ours; you may not copy or reuse them.
10. Changes, disclaimers, and contact
The service is provided “as is.” To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages, for the conduct of other members or clinics, or for decisions you make based on information found here. Where liability can't be excluded, it's limited to the amount you paid us in the past twelve months (for patients, that's nothing). These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, and disputes will be handled in its courts, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
We may update these terms as the platform grows. If a change matters, we'll tell you inside the app or by email before it takes effect. Questions? Write to hello@fertility-match.com or use the contact form.
