A new path for embryo donation

Some families have a little more to give. Others are still waiting.

Fertility Match connects people with remaining embryos to intended parents looking to grow their families — through participating fertility clinics. Private, identity-verified, and free for patients. Embryos are never bought or sold.

If you're hoping to receive embryos

There may be another path.

When treatment hasn't led where you hoped, embryo donation may offer another path. Create a profile, connect with donor families, and move forward through a participating fertility clinic.

If you have embryos to share

Your embryos could help build another family.

More than a million embryos are estimated to be frozen across the U.S. If you're considering donating yours, Fertility Match can help you connect with an intended parent or family and decide what kind of future relationship feels right for you.

How it works

Three simple steps to find a match and move forward.

01
Create & verify

Tell us who you are.

Create a profile with your story, values, and what you're hoping to find. Then verify your identity with our team, so other members can see that your identity has been confirmed.

02
Connect

Find someone who feels like a fit.

Browse profiles and request to connect when you're ready. They can review your profile before accepting, and no private records are shared with a request. If they accept, you can start a conversation. You can have up to three active conversations at a time.

03
Move forward

Your clinic and care team take it from here.

Once you both decide to move forward, the next steps may include medical screening, legal agreements, embryo transport, and treatment through your fertility clinic.

Why Fertility Match

Not an agency. Not a marketplace. A more personal way to match.

Free for patients

Partner clinics subscribe to Fertility Match, so intended parents and embryo donors do not pay to use the platform.

Embryos are never bought or sold

No one may sell, price, or pay for embryos on Fertility Match. Clinics and other professionals may charge for medical, legal, counseling, storage, shipping, or related services.

Support for known donation

Both sides answer the same four questions — identity, updates, direct contact, and connection among genetic siblings — and either of you can say you’re still open to discussing one. Expectations can be revisited as children grow.

Identity verification

Members are asked to verify their identity before connecting. A Verified check means our team confirmed identity on a given date — nothing more. Medical, records, and legal steps are separate, and are never implied by one badge.

Private by default

Profiles are visible only to logged-in Fertility Match members. Some additional information may be shared after you both choose to connect. Sensitive records and screening information are only shared with the people authorized for that step, and only with the required consent.

Alignment, not scores

We show areas of alignment and things to discuss, drawn from what you have each chosen to share. No match score, no ranking of one family above another. You decide who you want to connect with.

Built with privacy and security in mind

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, with privacy and security built into the platform from the start.

A clinic-connected platform, built around the people navigating embryo donation and the fertility practices supporting them.

Built for a decision this personal

Quiet by design. Careful on purpose.

01

You choose how open

You answer four separate questions — identity, updates, direct contact, and connection among genetic siblings — and can say you're open to discussing any of them. Location is limited to city and state, and precise location is not displayed.

02

3 conversations at a time

You can have up to three active conversations at once, helping each connection get the attention it deserves. End one anytime to start another.

03

Clinic-connected

Fertility Match helps with discovery and connection. Medical screening and treatment are handled by fertility clinics, while legal, storage, and transport needs may involve other professionals.

04

You set the pace

Save profiles, come back later, and connect when you're ready. Step back when you need to. There's no countdown.

Common questions
What is embryo donation?

Some families complete IVF with embryos they do not plan to use. Embryo donation allows them to donate those embryos to another person or family hoping to grow their family. The recipient may then use the embryos in a frozen embryo transfer. Embryo donation is sometimes referred to as “embryo adoption,” although the terms are not legally the same.

Does it cost anything? Are embryos ever bought or sold?

Fertility Match is free for intended parents and embryo donors. Embryos are never bought or sold through Fertility Match. Families may still have costs related to medical care, legal services, counseling, storage, shipping, testing, or other professional services involved in an embryo donation.

Who is Fertility Match for?

Fertility Match is for people with remaining embryos who are considering donation, intended parents hoping to grow their families through embryo donation, and fertility clinics participating in the process. We welcome people of all family structures, sexual orientations, gender identities, and faith backgrounds.

How do connections work?

Either side can request to connect. They can review your profile before accepting, and no private records are shared with a request. If the other person accepts, you can start a conversation. Members can have up to three active connections at a time. If someone is not available to connect, you can save their profile and come back later.

What happens to my private information when someone accepts?

Accepting a connection does not open your file. Some additional information may be shared after you both choose to connect. Sensitive records and screening information are only shared with the people authorized for that step, and only with the required consent.

Does Fertility Match provide medical or legal services?

No. Fertility Match helps people find and connect with each other. Medical care is handled by fertility clinics, and legal agreements are handled by qualified attorneys. Other professionals may also be involved in counseling, storage, testing, or embryo transport. Fertility Match does not provide medical or legal advice.
